What Is Audit Log for Confluence?
Audit Log for Confluence is a Forge Cloud app that gives Confluence administrators a complete, searchable activity trail for all content-level events — pages, blog posts, and attachments.
Atlassian's built-in audit log focuses on administrative and permission changes. This app fills the gap by recording what happens to your content itself: who created a page, who sent it to the trash, who permanently deleted an attachment, and much more. Every event is stored with a precise timestamp, the acting user, the affected content, and its parent space — so nothing slips through the cracks.

Two Ways to Access the Audit Log
The app surfaces audit data at two levels, so the right people can see the right scope:
1. Global Audit Log (Site Administrators)
Available at Confluence Administration → Apps → Audit Log.
Provides a site-wide view of all recorded events across every space. Includes full settings management — data retention, timezone display, personal space exclusion, and per-event subscription toggles.
2. Space Audit Log (Space Administrators)
Available at Space Settings → Integrations → Audit Log.
Automatically scoped to the current space. Space administrators can review, filter, and export activity for their own space without needing site-admin privileges. Global settings (retention, event subscriptions) are managed by the site administrator and apply to all spaces.
Default Behaviour
Out of the box, the app records only the deletion-related events for all three content types:
Moved to trash
Restored from trash
Permanently deleted
This keeps the log focused on the highest-risk changes and avoids accumulating large volumes of low-value data (e.g. routine page edits). You can enable additional event types at any time under Log Settings → Event Subscriptions.
