Unused Attachment Cleaner for Confluence

Identify and remove unused attachments to reclaim Confluence storage.

Unused Attachment Cleaner scans your Confluence pages and reports every attachment that is no longer referenced by any page content — images that aren't embedded, documents that aren't linked, files that were uploaded and forgotten. Once identified, you can delete them individually or in bulk, either sending them to Confluence trash or purging them permanently.

Three Entry Points

The app ships with three modules, each suited to a different role and scope:

Module Summaries

Admin Module — Site-wide Control

The admin module gives site administrators a full view across every space on the Confluence site. It supports one-click full-site scans, per-space drill-down with page-level detail, an Insights tab with a leaderboard ranked by reclaimable storage, a full Audit Log, and a Settings panel for configuring scan scope, exclusions, protected labels, and governance permissions.

Space Module — Space-level Management

The space module lets space administrators scan and clean attachments within their own space, without needing site admin access. It surfaces unused files with filtering and batch-delete support, a space-scoped audit log, and space-specific settings for draft page handling.

Page Action Module — Per-page Cleanup

The page action module is available to any user with page edit access. It opens as a modal directly on the current page, automatically scans the page's attachments, and lists unused files for instant removal. It includes a Purge mode for permanent deletion when the site admin has enabled it.

Draft pages: By default, only published page content is checked. Attachments referenced only in drafts will appear unused unless "Include draft pages" is enabled in Settings.
