User Activity Report for Confluence - User Guide
User Activity Report for Confluence helps Confluence admins and team leads answer three questions on a single page:
Who is using Confluence?
How much are they using it?
What do they actually do in it?
It combines a site-wide activity calendar, a per-event-type breakdown, and a per-user activity dialog — all aligned to the viewer's timezone.
Quick Start
Install the app in Confluence.
Open
Apps->Active Users Report(in the Confluence left sidebar).Wait for normal Confluence activity to be tracked. Freshly installed sites may look empty for a short warm-up period.
Use the
Activity Dashboardtab to review site-wide trends and the event-type breakdown.Use the
User Statustab to review individual users and open a user's activity dialog.
Interface at a glance
The app has two tabs at the top:
Tab | Purpose | Detailed guide |
|---|---|---|
| Site-wide activity trends + event type breakdown | |
| Per-user list, filters, CSV export, per-user Activity dialog |
The top-right utility bar is shared by both tabs:
Button | Result |
|---|---|
| Reloads live data from the backend |
| Opens the documentation page |
| Opens the support portal |
Core concepts
Tracked event types
Activity is grouped into ten event types. They are used consistently across the dashboard and the per-user Activity dialog:
Type | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Viewing pages, blog posts, attachments, or performing a search |
| Creating pages, blog posts, whiteboards, databases, folders, or custom content |
| Editing, moving, copying, reordering, restoring, or updating permissions on content |
| Deleting, archiving, trashing, or removing content and tasks |
| Adding, editing, or deleting a comment |
| Liking a page, blog post, or comment |
| Uploading, editing, archiving, trashing, or deleting an attachment |
| Creating, adding, removing, or deleting a label |
| Creating, updating, or deleting a space |
| User, group, relation, and other admin operations |
Activity vs. engagement
The app reports activity — whether a user produced any tracked event on a given day — not subjective "engagement". The three headline KPIs (Active Days, Longest Streak, Current Streak) are derived strictly from this activity signal.
Data freshness
The app starts showing data once Confluence events are produced after installation.
Freshly installed sites usually need a short warm-up period before the calendar and event type chart fill up.
FAQ (general)
Why is the dashboard empty after installation?
The site hasn't produced enough tracked Confluence events yet. Ask users to work in Confluence normally (view / create / edit / comment a page), wait a minute, then press Refresh.
What counts as activity?
Any of the tracked event types above. Common Confluence actions — viewing, creating, editing, commenting, liking, attachment changes, labeling, deleting — plus space-level changes and administrative operations (Other).
